Well, You gotta start somewhere... so we'll start here !

Townsville July 1st 2006

Sounded good... A contract that should last a couple of months in a near tropical climate, by the sea, subsidized by reclaimable expenses... housesitter back in Whangarei, New Zealand to mind the cat & clear the letterbox for a month or two... yeah yeah & four months later we're still here.










It's another clear blue sky day here in Townsville, Queensland Australia. Gone are the rains, cyclones & humid weather that marked the change from summer to winter.. now it's just devine!!

Beth's been hanging out around the appartment in town whilst I've been putting in the hours at Yabulu Nickel processing facility (QNI) located 30 minutes north. She only expected to come out & visit me for a few weeks during what we thought would be the end of my contract here. But as it turned out, the work & delays just kept mounting up & she has stayed out here waiting for my work to finish so that we can have our promised holiday in Queensland together. Thankfully there is a well stocked library to appease her constant thirst for books, & an abundance of great restaurants & wine shops to appease other hungers... & I have my work!
